The Berkshire Wedding Expo will be expanding this spring to a NEW location in North Adams! Currently located out of Tux Express at 313 North Street in Pittsfield, The Berkshire Wedding Expo has exceeded its capacity and will be opening in a larger space that will be of multi-functional use.

According to one of the owners, Diane Burdick, states that “The move is necessary as we are continually growing in the chair cover business for weddings. Because we carry all of our chair covers in stock, we need the space to hold, manage and prep them.” Burdick also says the new store location will bring more positive things. “We also plan to hold small events where some of our featured wedding professionals will be able to conduct seminars, workshops, etc.” Burdick is no stranger to having the 2nd store location. “Back in 2003, Jerrid and I opened a location right next to our tux shop at 307 North Street. The whole idea was to allow businesses to meet with clients, host small events and be a space for weddings to gather resources like business cards and pamphlets.” However, with the boom in the internet, the need for a storefront was unnecessary. “We were able to reach more people and get more information out there without the overhead.” Burdick says they decided to close the storefront but never lost the idea of having an actual location.

At their new address, 195 Ashland Street, brides will be able to attend DIY workshops for centerpieces, favors, etc. It will also be a showroom for wedding professionals to showcase their wares such as table displays. photography and more! The space also serves as a neutral meeting spot for vendors like at-home businesses and brides.  “We want to create a space that is welcoming to our brides. We want them to feel free to utilize the space for information, meetings and more! We want brides to know that TheBerkshireWeddingExpo.com is MORE than a web site; it's an experience."

Although there is not a set opening date as renovations are expected, The Berkshire Wedding Expo plans to throw an Open House in late June for the community to pop in and see what new and exciting developments are happening in the local wedding industry.  "We want everyone to know that there IS a LOCAL resource that promotes, works with and endorses Berkshire County wedding professionals exclusively! One shouldn't have to hire a vendor from out of the area for their wedding day. We have plenty of exceptional wedding professionals located right here in the county!" Currently, TheBerkshireWeddingExpo.com represents over 120 Berkshire County wedding professionals.

Wedding Tip #26
When finalizing your seating chart, make sure the # of people assigned to those tables equals the same # of people assigned on the place cards. In addition, make sure you provide your caterer, banquet manager, day of coordinator, etc. with the chart and place cards in plenty of time before the wedding so they can review it with fresh eyes.
