25 Reception Site Questions You Should be Asking ...
BEFORE you book!!!

  1. How many rooms are available at your facility? (ballroom, cocktail room, etc.)
  2. What is the maximum room capacity for each room offered?
  3. Is there a room reservation fee? How much is it?
  4. Do you double book your rooms? (hold more than one event in the same day)
  5. Is there an additional fee if one stays later than their contracted time? (Examples include having a reception booked until 9PM but one's guests would like to stay later)
  6. What is included with the rental of the room? (chair covers, linens, tables, china, centerpieces, etc.)
  7. What are your color options?
  8. Does your facility allow for outside caterers to come in?
  9. If you provide the caterer, can you accommodate special dietary needs?
  10. What does the "per person" charge include? (meal, champagne toast, cake plating, open bar, tax, gratuity, etc.)
  11. Do you offer packages? 
  12. If one wanted an outdoor ceremony, can your facility accommodate that? (What if it rains?)
  13. Does your facility accommodate guests to stay there? If so, is there a bridal suite available to get ready in?
  14. Does your facility have a liquor license? What are the restrictions, if any?
  15. Can one provide their own champagne or alcohol?
  16. Do you charge a corkage fee for wine and champagne?
  17. How big is your dance floor?
  18. Is there an unloading/loading area for the d.j.?
  19. What are your decorating restrictions (no pushpins, putty, etc.? )
  20. What is your decorating time policy?
  21. What is your reception time length policy? How late in the evening can we book until?
  22. Are there regulations for photographers and videographers?
  23. What is your cancellation policy?
  24. What is the down payment due at the contract signing?
  25. When is the balance due? (cash, check, charge?)

If you get married on a holiday weekend, it is strongly recommended that you book your reception facility 16 months before the big day!
