Tell us more about Jocelyn Vassos Photography:

Jocelyn Vassos Photography is currently a one woman show with an amazing 2nd photographer, upon request.  I was born and raised in the Berkshires. I have left, come back, left and now back again. This time for good! In my time away, I studied at New England School of Photography in Boston where I made my dream of being a professional photographer a reality. I am a fun loving gal who takes her photography business seriously but still knows how to have a good time!

What inspired you to shoot wedding photography?

4 1⁄2 years ago when I got married is when I got inspired to photograph weddings. We had such a blast, everyone was happy and it was a day full of love. I fell in love with wedding days on my wedding day! I decided to take my 10 year passion for photography and make the transition from fine art b&w film to photographing weddings.

What packages do you offer your clients?

I work with my couples to make sure they are getting the collection that works best for them. I can do anything from a basic collection of wedding day coverage to all the bells and whistles offering albums, thank you cards, engagement sessions and more. All collections offer guests a pass-code protected gallery, a site visit and a flash drive of high res images with all image rights.

What makes you unique from other photographers?

What makes me unique is my personality which comes through in how I work with couples. For me it is about getting to know who the couple is, what they like and don’t like what makes them laugh and smile. My photos aren’t about me they are about the couple and telling their story.

How far ahead do you recommend couples book with you?

Generally I would say 8 -12 months ahead of time will increase the chances that I will have your date available. However, I have no “rule” about how far in advance a couple has to book with me.

What are some tips you offer for couples writing their
“Picture Take List” for the wedding?

I tell them to start off by putting down anything and everything they know they want. It’s worth letting your photographer know what’s important to you even if you think they will instinctively get that shot. If you don’t have specific shots in mind it could be helpful to identify if you like candid shots, details, table shots, etc..

Have you ever won any awards?

Yes I won the Wedding Wire Bride’s Choice Award 2011 & 2012

Wedding Tip #5
If you get married on a holiday weekend, it is strongly recommended that you book your reception facility 16 months before the big day!
